Learning a universal language—together.
Waynflete’s commitment to the arts is well known. Dancers, actors, visual artists, and musicians are valued members of the school community. Our students explore visual, performing, and applied arts from many different eras and cultures in spaces designed to support their artistic growth. They perform on one of the city’s premier stages, show their work in the Waynflete Art Gallery, and share work-in-progress at school coffeehouses. They learn to collaborate within an ensemble and step forward for a solo. And through this disciplined creative practice they discover and pursue their own creative passions.

CONTACT
“Creating, performing, responding, and connecting are at the core of the performing arts program. Here, students find their voices—unique, powerful, and expressive—as actors, choreographers, dancers, musicians, composers, playwrights, theater technicians, and artist-activists. The faculty team strives to spot the potential, nurture the passion, inspire the imagination, foster the sense of community, amplify the voices, and celebrate our young artists.”

Director of Performing Arts
“Our goal is for every student to develop the skills of perception, execution, and nonverbal self-expression. We facilitate an appreciation for the craft, for cultural aesthetics, and for lifelong participation in the arts. In our studios, there is never one ‘correct’ answer. These collaborative spaces are an environment where mistakes are frequently celebrated as problem-solving tools.”
